What

Even though we have learned to speak the same language, we still fail to truely understand each other. Cultural differences or different backgrounds make it even harder. With Humour and honesty during one and a half hour presentation I tell you my life story and the interculural differences I experienced

My promise

After the show you will know more about correlation between productivity and diversity. What effect globalisation has and how to manage intercultural differences. How we as a society can contribute to integration in a sustainable way. Pitfalls of entrepreneurship with one-sided staff composition.

We are on a mission to unite the world by creating more awareness about integration, intercultural cooperation and better relationship.
diverse workforce is a more productive workforce, and your business can benefit from different perspectives, improved community relations and more creativity. Diverse groups  however are harder to manage. Our education system doesnt prepare us for the cultural differences. With this presentation we fill the gab with insights that stick

Diversity

With humor and honesty, I confront you with all differences we face: from one culture to another, from man to woman and between different personalities. Having lived and worked in and with extreme opposites, I’ve had my share of aha-moments, and now it’s time to share them with you. All without shying away from the uncomfortable: practiced discrimination, inequality, and hilarious misunderstandings. With personal stories, that make you cringe or cry – with laughter.

More productivity

In my keynote I’ll give genuine insights, learning that looking at others, is to look in the mirror. I will give employers and employees the tools they need to ensure a lasting integration for everyone in their organization. Using my own experiences, and my own mistakes.

Audience

  •  Companies looking to constantly improve themselves
  • Theatres
  • Who ever is interested in leadership and self growth

Show

Hearing my story is the first step in acknowledging the problem, truly listening brings us to the solution: Understanding each other on a universal level, which drives us to a stronger society but also working together better. Straight forward and outspoken, I will speak about:

Diversity

the inclusion of different types of people such as people of different races or cultures in a group or organization

Intercultural

Practicing mutual respect for qualities and experiences that are different from our own

Integration

In an intercultural society, no one is left unchanged because everyone learns from one another and grows together.

Pitfalls of entrepreneurship

Pitfalls of entrepreneurship with one-sided staff composition.

Each show will be implementable to your own organization, interactive and impactful. After a few weeks, we take a moment to reflect on any changes that have been made. Really want to get to work? I also provide customized follow-up workshops to put it all into practice.

Your past experiences define who you are now, but even more what actions you don’t take.

My turn presentatie

Hi, I’m Jinan,

a successful entrepreneur. But, can I even say that about myself? Or should I wait for someone else to call me that? As a man, it’s normal to say that about yourself, to boast oneself, like a gorilla on top of a rock – even though dutch men aren’t nearly as hairy. But what about me, as a woman? A woman who is labeled as ‘’foreigner’’, an ‘’immigrant’’? Am I allowed to celebrate myself like that, even though it is what we are all looking for: admiration and acknowledgment?

Born in Bagdad, Irak, and having moved to Holland as a 12-year-old girl, I’ve experienced every trick in the book when it comes to intercultural difficulties. I eventually graduated as a jurist from the Rijnuniversiteit Utrecht, counting my blessings every day along the way. After working in this field – filled with men – for a few years, I took a complete u-turn and became an entrepreneur. I found myself creating and selling concepts, successfully. Without any prior experience, I went into the hospitality business, building up social intercultural hospitality concepts from scratch – bringing people, cultures, and flavors together. As a trainer of groups who have a distance to the labor market, I’ve helped develop and advance the autonomy and diversity on the work floor, in a country that will consist for 40 percent of immigrants by 2025, and struggles with that.

Bringing cultures together and raising awareness has been a big part of my life, and i want to share my story. As Maya Angelou put it:

There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.

For the past year, I’ve worked with scriptwriters to set up a show on this serious matter, being able to bring it in a way that resonates, breaks taboos and brings us together, and ultimately forward. I invite you to broaden your horizons and give you insight into my story. I want to help everyone to live up to their full potential, and the only way we can do that is together.
